Description

Highlights

This 4 days Tarangire-manyara-ngorongoro crater safari is designed to offer you three of the best National Parks located in Tanzania Northern Circuit. These Parks includes Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park and Ngorongoro Crater.

Our 3 Day visit begins with a stop at the famous Tarangire National Park which features some of the greatest concentration of game in Tanzania – second only to the Ngorongoro Crater – but less crowded and unspoiled – possessing a wild beauty.

Next is the Ngorongoro Crater featuring one of the highest concentrations of game in Africa. Here you will witness an amazing spectacle of African wildlife – inside a self-contained world teeming with animals.

Finally you get to visit Lake Manyara National Park, one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a shallow but huge soda lake, at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment.

Day 1

Tarangire National Park

You will be met and greeted in Arusha for a Safari Briefing and then depart for Tarangire National Park. Tarangire National Park covers an area of 2850 km² and is named after its river that runs through the heart of the park.

During the dry season, the river becomes the only existing water source and you can expect excellent game viewings with sightings of buffalo, eland, giraffe, kudu, wildebeest, zebra as well as predators like hyena, leopard, and lion. The park is also known for its large elephant population and its majestic baobab trees. Enjoy the day with a game drive inside the National Park. In the late afternoon, proceed to your lodge located at the park border and overlooking Lake Burunge.

Day 2

Manyara National Park

Start early with a picnic-lunch to the entrance gate of Manyara National Park and explore Manyara National Park during a full day game drive. Manyara National Park is a small park with 330 km² and it is located between the Rift Valley Escarpment Wall and the soda lake Manyara.

During wet season the soda lake covers the majority of the park, but is nearly non-existent during the dry season. More than 400 bird species inhabit this park and the park is therefore a good spot for bird watching. You can also expect to see large families of blue monkeys and baboons, dik-dik, elephants, gazelles, giraffes, impalas, wildebeests, zebras and many more. In the afternoon, you will drive up the Rift Valley to your accommodation in Karatu.

Day 3

Ngorongoro Crater

Proceed with a picnic-lunch to the entrance gate of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and continue to the descent road of the Ngorongoro Crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most frequently visited safari destinations in the Northern Circuit. The Crater is actually a “caldera” that was formed during a volcanic eruption and is now home to an abundant wildlife variety. More than 25,000 animals call this crater their home and the crater is well known for its “Big Five” and its large lion population. Enjoy a game drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 4

Farewell, Tanzania!

After a relaxed morning, return with a picnic-lunch to Arusha where you will be dropped in Arusha Town or at Arusha Airport (ARK) / Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward journey.
