Day 1: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Awaken early morning for breakfast, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to track mountain gorillas. This journey is thrilling with stunning views to check out; the vehicle may be stopped whenever you want to take excellent pictures. Stop in Mbarara for lunch and drive on to Bwindi, you will reach late and check into your selected lodge.

These vary from super-luxury, luxury, average as well as budget accommodation. Whatever you choose, you’ll enjoy a great view of this Impenetrable forest. Sleep to the different sounds of the birds and flowing water in the forest.  Dine and rest as you prepare for an adventure the following day.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking in the rain tropical forest

Enjoy a delicious breakfast and continue to the headquarters of the park where you will be briefed about the rules plus guidelines governing gorilla tracking within the park. You will be introduced to your rangers and separated into groups, before you begin trekking. You will come across several primates, butterflies and plant species. This will require physical fitness since it involves climbing the hills. This activity takes approximately 2 – 8 hours depending on where the gorillas are and only one hour with the gorillas.

It’s tedious and worthwhile since you directly observe the gorillas, you will watch them go about their daily routine; feeding their young ones, rest and play with each other. You are generously requested to maintain a distance while you observe them. Remember to observe Silence and don’t forget to turn off the camera flash since it distracts them. At the end of some great time with the gorillas, you will rest back at the lodge.

You will have a village walk in the evening to interact with the Batwa people. You will have an opportunity to learn about the survival of these people in the area. Visit a local school; the women craft shop as well as observe their local process of brewing alcohol. There is a local traditional healer who you will visit, and be entertained by children, men and women with traditional songs and dances. At the end of this great day you will head back to the lodge for dinner and the night’s rest.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest.

Have a delicious breakfast and move out of your lodge and drive off to Kibale National Park to trek chimpanzees. This journey will be thrilling as you will watch the beautiful Kabale scenery, observe the locals cultivating the hill tops. The vehicle will stop and you will be able to take photos. You will be pleased by the peaceful weather.

Arrive in the late evening, check into your accommodation of preference. Whatever you decide, you will enjoy the spectacular vistas looking over the park. After dinner you will have a forest walk in the evening to see nocturnal primates such as the bush baby which have a surprising night cry, and potto. You will see some animals and species of birds guided by a game ranger. Head back to the lodge for your night’s rest.

Day 4: Kibale Forest

The experience is wonderful since you will see several primates like L’Hoest’s Monkeys, Baboons, Blue Monkeys Black & White Colobus Monkeys, Red Colobus Monkeys and Grey Cheeked Mangabey, some animals in the park.
